LASIK PRESBYOPIA CORRECTION

What is Lasik Presbyopia Correction? Have you ever experienced difficulty to read what’s on your computer screen? Already applying reading glasses to see fine print? If so, then Lasik Presbyopia Correction might be the proper option for you.

Presbyopia is the only sight condition which affects 100% of the population after a certain age (in general from 45 years old). Presbyopia surgery using a Laser (Lasik) or Intraocular Implants allows the symptom to be corrected.

Presbyopia literally means “old eyes”. When we age, all parts of our body lose some of its flexibility including eyes. Presbyopia is caused by a loss of elasticity in the crystalline lens i.e. the lens inside our eye which becomes rounded to create a magnifying effect allowing us to see close-up and reduces its roundness when we look into the distance.

There are Three Traditional Remedies: 1. Eyewear: Traditionally, people with presbyopia have used corrective eyewear – reading glasses, bifocals, or progressive lenses – to see things clearly at a close distance. 2. Contact lenses: Some people prefer contact lenses to glasses, and there have traditionally been three choices. 3. Monovision Lasik: Monovision Lasik corrects one eye for near vision and leaves the other eye as is, for distance vision. The brain relearns how to use the information coming from each eye. It is important to emphasize the fact that Presbyopia should be treated slightly differently to other "classical" visual defects. The mission of Presbyopic surgery, as with all other refractive surgeries, is to eliminate the symptoms of the refractive error rather than to correct the structural defect itself.
